These exercises have been designed to bring back some flexibility and reunite you with parts of you that you just don’t move. The exercises help to re-establish range of motion in your back, shoulders, arms, neck, legs, etc. These classes are not aerobic, not strengthening … it is all about becoming less stiff, more flexible, more mobile. Then you can go to exercise class – you can’t run if you can’t walk.
The classes are 45 – 50 minutes long. You don’t have to rush off … stay a while and enjoy the view. Classes will be on the front lawn … bring bug spray, suntan lotion, a chair and a small blanket, towel or exercise mat.
These exercises focus on stretching your connective tissue. There are postures sitting, lying down and lastly standing. All postures are done slowly and a minimum of twice. There are, at the end, a few balance positions all of which focus on another area of stretching actually achieved best if you can balance. It’s all about the stretch and opening up.
I have been injured and operated on. My belly isn’t what it used to be. I have found doing yoga stretches as part of my self care has helped with pain reduction and has kept me flexible. These exercises will be offered outdoors. You need a yoga mat, beach towel, water, hat sunscreen and bug spray. The classes will be on my front lawn.
With nothing but nature to distract you, it is easy to focus inward on how you are moving and carrying stress. We will walk the paths on my land, the walk is about 20 – 30 minutes depending on what we are exploring. The exercises have been designed to bring you into greater connection with your physical self. By the end of the course, you will have tools to maintain a less stressed out you.
