I have always focused on therapeutic massage. I have worked with a myriad of conditions over the years. Of course, if you have something new and unusual, I’m sure I could research your condition and get up to speed on what massage could do to help.
I came to massage therapy as a career because of a whiplash injury. I had been for other forms of therapy and I was not healing very quickly. At 25, I was frustrated with the weakness and pain I was still in, months after the injury. A dancer suggested I try massage. After the first treatment the pain in my shoulders and neck reduced by half.
I had been looking for a career which combined most of my interests. I enrolled at Sutherland-Chan Teaching and Massage Therapy School in 1985.
My main focus has become bound connective tissue. Over the years, I have collected many ways to help tissue release.
I am not so much deep as accurate at finding and releasing the areas of restriction.
I have learned a lot by working on my clients and myself. I have been operated on when I was 2, 8, 21 and 40. The last two were abdominal operations both with long large scars. I have had two car accidents, both whiplashes and I have 2 children.
I am branching out now to teach the exercises I give to my clients and the yoga I practice to stay as flexible and pain free as I can.
I also will be teaching walking exercises, we will walk on my land.
I still find what I do interesting, challenging with much to learn. I like helping people regain their mobility.
